SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE:

 

This role is responsible for the structuring and management of ITFC’s Islamic Trade Funds, and to ensure that funds strategies are respected. It is also responsible for the overall fund management process, financial analysis and risk management.

SECTION II: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Head of Policy and Partnerships with the identification of investment opportunities, the development of funds strategies, as well as the structuring and management of funds.
  • Building in-depth knowledge on Islamic funds, observing the market developments, and identifying innovative opportunities for the establishment of Islamic Trade Finance Funds.
  • Launching and managing Islamic Trade Finance Funds for ITFC, IDB Group, member countries or any external investor.
  • Structuring of funds including: investment strategy and objectives, risks management, finances and economics, policies and guidelines. Coordinating the approval procedure by the Group Sharia’h Board or Sharia’s Advisor when required
  • Collaborating with Risk Management to identify the risk for ITFC involved in setting up funds.
  • Supporting with the hiring of fund managers by providing job specifications and requirements to HR, conducting job interviews and contributing to the decision.
  • Monitoring and managing funds in ITFC’s portfolio and providing regular reporting to the Head of Policy and Partnerships on the status and escalating any issues.
  • Ensuring the relevance and accuracy of information provided on funds to clients and prospects, including fact sheets and regular performance summaries.
  • Managing funds’ investments and ensuring the application of their respective investment strategy.
  • Promote ITFC as a trusted player in the Islamic Asset Management Industry.
  • Ensuring that ITFC funds operate in accordance with the relevant agreements or regulations under international and/or local laws/jurisdictions.
  • Protecting investors' money within the defined risk by underlying the investment decision by providing accurate financial and economic analysis, industry research and due diligence to the Investment Committee or any relevant investment body.

SECTION IV: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

 

  • MBA / Masters / Post Graduate Degree, or equivalent work experience in Finance, Mathematics or a relevant Quantitative Field

Language Skills:

  • English is compulsory
  • Arabic or French is preferable

Years of Experience:

8 to 10 years
