SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE:

Under the overall guidance of the General Manager of the Trade & Business Development (T&BD) Department and the Division Manager of the Trade Development Division, and in direct supervision with the AfTIAS Program Manager.

SECTION II: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Expertise and Consultancy

  • Provide technical assistance, high level administrative support and quality executive services to the AfTIAS Program Manager
  • Provide the required assistance to the AfTIAS Program Manager in research and studies needed and requested;
  • Provide executive summaries and analysis of such studies and reports

Executive Support

  • Draft responses on the queries and questions received by the AfTIAS Program Manager from various partners;
  • Assist the AfTIAS Program Manager in following up implementation of AfTIAS.

Technical, Executive and Administrative Assistance 

  • Continuously, follow-up and arrange the ITFC’s participation in, and contribution to all AfTIAS events and meetings and follow-up of matters arising therefrom in accordance with such meetings’ minutes and resolutions, as well as the directives of the AfTIAS Board;
  • Respond to incoming/outgoing correspondence of AfTIAS, including reports, documents and correspondence;
  • Follow and monitor the CMU activities within ITFC as well as other institutions, participate in preparation of regular progress reports on the activities of the AfTIAS;
  • Assist in preparation of the daily/weekly/yearly calendar for AfTIAS activities.

Reporting

  • Prepare and present executive summaries for incoming AfTIAS documents, provide comprehensive inputs about the document, including conclusion of the document, recommendations, etc.
  • Prepare, proofread, verify draft correspondence as directed by the AfTIAS Program Manager.

SECTION IV: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelors / Graduate Degree in administration, economics or equivalent
  • Experience in administration and technical assistance with consistent experience;
  • Proven experience in program formulation, management and evaluation;
  • Good knowledge of international technical cooperation programs;
  • Computer literacy and good report writing and editing abilities;
  • Business attitude and demonstrated skills in managing complex technical cooperation projects;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision with ethics, efficiency, competence and integrity and in harmony with people of different backgrounds.

Language Skills:

• English and Arabic are compulsory
• French is an additional preference

Years of Experience:

Minimum of 10 years
